What does CNA stand for?

CNA stands for Certified Nursing Assistant. CNAs are individuals who have met the criteria to successfully pass the State of Ohio’s requirements and can begin to work in Acute Care settings such as Home Health for example.

What does STNA stand for?

STNA stands for State Tested Nursing Assistant. In order to work in Long Term Care Facilities, CNA students must pass the State Test, after which they will achieve STNA status. Naturally, STNAs can also work at Acute Care Facilities, if they so desire.

How long does it take to become a CNA?
  • The State of Ohio requires each program to meet certain requirements: 75 hours is the minimum required time to meet State guidelines.
  • You can become a CNA in as short as 2 weeks through Ally College. Class times are 9 am – 5pm Monday through Friday.
  • The evening class times are 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm, which is only 4 weeks long, Monday through Friday.

Where can I take the CNA certification exam?

Ally College offers on-site certification exams at least once a month on Thursdays. We also have an open lab available for students who register for the State test.

How can I get my CNA license online?

Ally College is authorized by the Department of Health to provide students with a Certificate of Completion upon meeting all course requirements. As part of the State of Ohio’s regulations, Ally College is required to have at least 59 hours of actual classroom time and 16 hours of clinical time.

How can I become a CNA if I'm working?

,,We offer two cohorts to assist you with attending class at a convenient time. Day time classes run for 2 weeks, 9 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday and evening classes are convened over 4 weeks, 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Where can I get my CNA license?

Ally College offers students the ability to receive their ‘Certificate of Completion’ at the end of the course upon successfully completing all course requirements. Once students receive their ‘Certificate of Completion’, they can start working at acute care facilities, i.e home health, assisted living facilities etc.

What is a nurse aide training and competency evaluation program?

Ally College is an approved site by the Department of Health and students who pass the Certified Nursing Aide course successfully are considered to have met the “Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation” requirements. Some also refer to the “Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program” as NATCEP.

Are there any payment plans available?

    We offer flexible payment plans for students once they have reserved a seat in class at a cost of $55. Two installments of $300 each are followed by two additional installments of $150 each. Typically, the final installment must be paid the Thursday prior to class completion.

    Can I receive a discount if I pay in full up front?
    The $55 seat reservation fee is waived for students who pay in full in advance.
    Where can I complete my background check including fingerprinting?
    • Fingerprint background checks can be completed during a scheduled break time while attending class.

    Are scrubs required? If so, what kind?

    Scrubs are to be worn to class.  Hunter Green scrubs are required for the second week of class, which can be purchased online from Ally College at the following link, Scrubs
